Microsoft OneNote for the Mac [Direct Link] is available for free from the Mac App Store. While the consumer version is free, Microsoft is still offering a paid business version with premium.
Microsoft will be updating OneNote for iPhone and iPad to take advantage of Apple's iOS 8 share extension, adding useful new capabilities to the note taking app through built-in share sheets. As demoed in the video above, a OneNote button in Safari (accessed via the share sheet) will let users quickly clip articles and information from the web, automatically inserting content into the OneNote app. The OneNote Share Extension will also allow users to export files to OneDrive, Microsoft's cloud storage service, and it's also possible to save photos from the device's camera roll to the app. The sharing functions built into the OneNote app will undoubtedly become common features in many iOS apps in the future, making it easier than ever to share content between apps and services. In addition to offering inter-app sharing features, Apple's Extensibility APIs let apps access system-wide third party keyboards, add widgets to the Notification Center, share photo editing extensions, and more. Microsoft plans to release its OneNote update on the same day that iOS 8 becomes available to the public, which should be shortly before the iPhone 6 begins shipping to customers.

True but I like it better then evernote. It's free and together with my office 365 account it works like a charm. I use it for business and traveling purposes, for traveling I use just 1 tab and underneath many pages like e-tickets for the flight to scan in at the airport, a page for information of where i'm staying (hotel, pension etc), page for number information etc. I have a similar approach for business projects, when I receive an e-mail for example on my iPad (using CloudMagic e-mail client for this) that's referring to one of my ongoing project I can send that e-mail with one click to my OneNote and from there I can put that information in the right project page. Therefore I can quickly put important information aside. It really makes my daily work a lot easier.
I therefor welcome these add-ons. With Evernote you can do a bit more, but after evernote OneNote is without any doubt the best note app out there. It also syncs brilliantly. I actually prefer OneNote, mainly because of the way it allows for note organisation. Another plus is that OneNote allows free text entry anywhere on the screen. I prefer the layout options of OneNote to Evernote.

The new OneNote for Mac app is interesting both because the app has never been available in OS X before and because it has been a few years since the other Office for Mac applications—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook—have been updated. The application's user interface is more in line with the 'ribbon' UI used in the Windows versions of Office, and it may give us an idea of where Microsoft is headed with the next version of Office for Mac (the rumor mill says we'll see an update at some point this year).
