The following is a basic tutorial for how to install mods for Minecraft on Mac OS. Frankly, Minecraft (and, by extension, the majority of its mods) was (were) built on Windows. It has never — and probably will never — play well with Mac OS. Go to “Finder” > “Go” > “Go to Folder” > “~/Library/Application Support/minecraft” > “mods”, repeat step 8 to find “LLibrary*version*.jar”, then drag that file into the “mods” folder. Scroll to the bottom of the page where it says “Ice and Fire Mod *minecraft version* Download Links”, find the appropriate version of Minecraft (for example “For Minecraft 1.10.2”), and click “Download from Server 1”. Repeat Step 8 to find “Ice-and-Fire-*version*.jar” in the “Downloads” folder.

Repeat Step 9 to find the “mods” folder. Drag the “Ice-and-Fire-*version*.jar” into the folder. Open Minecraft Launcher. Click the up arrow next to “Play”, and then click the version that says “*version*-forge*numbers*” 15. Click Play, Wait, and Pray that it works!

Installing Forge can be a bit tricky, but you’ll find all the help you need on the wiki and forums devoted to it.
